Kingswood 2017

Last week, Year 5 went on a fantastic residential trip to Kingswood from Monday to Friday. On the way to the centre, we stopped off at a place called Mote Park for lunch which had a large adventure playground, a skate park and an outdoor gym – a great way to kick start our week!

Once we arrived at the centre, we were greeted by our Group Leader, Corey. He showed us all around the huge site including our dormitories and the dining hall. We got to have three hot meals a day and there was always loads to choose from. The Kingswood activity centre is a magnificent adventure park with a huge selection of outdoor courses, obstacles and indoor activities all of which gave us the chance to practise our team work skills. Every day we did three activities in the morning, three in the afternoon and one in the evening therefore seven activities in total every day.

Some of the activities we did were the 3G swing, orienteering, aeroball, high equilibrium, abseiling, archery, environmental art and mini Olympics. We also did indoor activities such as fencing, rock climbing, scrap heap challenge and a fab disco! We had so much fun, we didn’t want to leave at the end of the week!

Here are some quotes from Year 5 children…

“I thought the food was really nice, there was a wide variety to choose from, especially for vegetarians,” Nasir Odeh

“The whole trip was absolutely brilliant because we got to do so many activities particularly lots of ones that were high up in the air.” Imogen Ross

“It was amazing because I tried new things and I got to face my fears!” Tom Rolls
