Home School Agreement

We support each child to thrive personally, socially and academically. We give our children opportunities to develop enquiring minds, a lifelong love of learning and to become well rounded members of the community.  We strongly believe in celebrating every success and preparing our children for the future.

THE SCHOOL AIMS

Education

  • To provide a good all around education
  • To ensure that there is a planned programme of work suitable to the needs and ability of your child
  • To provide a safe, caring, happy and stimulating learning environment

Homework

  • To provide regular, relevant homework
  • To maximise the opportunity for home reading by the regular exchange of books (when necessary)
  • To provide curriculum evenings when appropriate

Communication

  • To provide a termly meeting between parents and teachers to discuss progress and agree action points for each child
  • To provide termly curriculum information with supporting documentation
  • To send regular newsletters and maintain effective communication between all members of the school community

Discipline

  • To achieve high standards of behaviour based on the school’s behaviour policy
  • To deal with problems sympathetically and fairly, having listened to your child’s point of view

THE PARENT’S AIM

Communication

  • To ensure my child arrives at school punctually, dressed in the correct, named school uniform
  • To inform school of any absences and provide a letter stating reasons for absence when your child returns
  • To provide the school with current emergency contact numbers

Homework

  • To support homework tasks set for my child and to sign the homework diary/contact book
  • To listen regularly to my child reading at home

General

  • To support the aims set out in the school’s Mission Statement
  • To make the school aware of any concerns or problems that may affect my child’s work or behaviour
  • To attend parent consultation meetings about my child’s progress
  • To support the school’s behaviour policy
  • To park considerately outside school

THE CHILD’S AIM

  • To be Creative, Caring, Calm, Cooperative, Committed and Courageous
  • To behave according to the school’s behaviour code which includes representing the school at sporting or other events if requested
  • To be caring and thoughtful of others
  • To take responsibility for my belongings and show respect for the environment
  • To bring all the equipment I need to school every day
