GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Communication with Parents

We use an electronic system called Parentmail to communicate with our parents via email and text message.  This covers letters, newsletters and general information which are sent directly to your email addresses or phone.  We also use this system for any emergency messages we need to get out to parents via their text service, such as school closure due to bad weather or delayed return from school trips.  In addition we use this system for payments for trips, school meals etc.  In a continued effort to try and become more efficient we are developing the way in which we use Parentmail’s functions to collate and update pupil information and we now use their Forms option.

We would like to reassure parents that Parentmail is fully registered under the data protection registrar and guarantees that all information supplied will be kept completely private and there is also no advertising associated with this scheme.

At the beginning of each week, the school sends a newsletter to all parents. You will also receive a year group newsletter at the start of every half term. Letters and information will be sent to parents during the week as appropriate to the year group. Whole school newsletters can also be viewed on the website and year group newsletters can be found under each year group on the Curriculum section of the website

If your child is absent and you have not contacted the school prior to 9.00 am, we use parentmail text service to contact you directly regarding your child’s absence from school.

You may wish to visit the Parentmail website where you will find answers to most if not all of your questions and hopefully allay any concerns you may have.  Please remember, you will not be able to utilise the site fully without registering first, when you receive an email from Parentmail, please follow the verification process and you will then be registered.  Please contact the school office if you have any questions regarding your parentmail account.

There is also a Parentmail App and we’d encourage all parents to download this as there are a number of benefits both to you and the school:

  • You don’t need to login to pick up messages or attachments when you use the App.
  • The App stores all the messages we send you in one place.
  • Every message sent arrives as an instant alert on your mobile.
  • You help save us money!

You can download the App for free from either the Apple app store or Google Play Store

Please also see our Twitter account for latest news.
