GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

KEY TRANSITION DATES FOR CHILDREN JOINING IN SEPTEMBER 2022

Nursery, Reception and Year 3

Nursery

Thursday 30th June 7.00pm 

Welcome to EYFS (Nursery and Reception) evening (adults only) opportunity to meet the EYFS Team and see your child’s classroom.

Friday 8th July

Children to school for a welcome stay and play session to meet the teacher and explore the Nursery classroom.  Unfortunately, we are unable to offer an alternative date as the whole school is involved in this.

 9.30am to 10.30am Children who will attend Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday morning

11.00 am to 12.00pm Children who will attend Wednesday afternoon and Thursday and Friday

 1.30pm to 2.30pm Children who will attend every day

Parents are welcome to stay for refreshments hosted by our PTA.

Thursday 1st September – inset day school closed

Friday 2nd September

Children to school for a stay and play session to familiarise themselves again with their teacher and classroom, without their parents.   

9.30am to 10.30am Children who will attend Monday and Tuesday all day and Wednesday morning

11.00am to 12.00pm Children who will attend Wednesday afternoon and Thursday and Friday all day

 1.30pm to 2.30pm Children who will attend all day every day

Monday 5th September to Wednesday 7th September

Home visits, information regarding dates and times will be issued at the Welcome evening (30th June).  Unfortunately, with the number of children who need to be visited, we are unable to rearrange visits.

Thursday 8th September – Children in for their first settling session

 8.40am to 11.40am Children who will attend either beginning or end of week  

12.10pm to 3.10pm Children who will attend every day

Friday 9th September – settling session

 8.40am to 11.40am Children who will attend every day 

12.10pm to 3.10pm Children who will attend either beginning or end of week  

Monday 12th September onwards

Children will be in Nursery for their normal sessions

 

Reception

Thursday 30th June 7.00pm

Welcome to EYFS (Reception and Nursery) evening (adults only) opportunity to meet the EYFS Team and see your child’s classroom

Friday 8th July

Children to school for a welcome stay and play session to meet the teacher and explore the Reception classroom.  Unfortunately, we are unable to offer an alternative date as the whole school is involved in this. The session will either be in the morning or afternoon, specific times for your child will be issued at the Welcome to EYFS evening.

Parents are welcome to stay for refreshments hosted by our PTA.

Friday 2nd September

Then staggered starts 9.15am, 9.30am, 9.45am, 10.00am or 10.15am, details of times have been sent via Parentmail

Collection at 3.10pm 

Thursday 8th September onwards 8.40am to 3.10pm

All pupils - all day

 

Year 3

Friday 8th July 8.55am to 3.15pm

Children to school for a transition day  

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer an alternative date as the whole school is involved in this day.

Children to arrive at the school office for 9.15am 

Monday 5th September onwards 8.40am to 3.15pm

Pupils to start school, through main pupil entrance and collected from classroom.
